Darty-Ai is a variable-data and automation plugin for Adobe Illustrator. Connect spreadsheet values to your artwork to update text, images, colors and layouts, then export the variations.

Darty-Ai runs inside Adobe Illustrator on macOS and Windows. You need Illustrator installed separately.

The installer page lists the supported Illustrator versions and the downloads for each platform. Check it before installing or upgrading Illustrator.

Yes. Load Excel (.xlsx or .xls) and CSV files, or connect to public and private Google Sheets. Public sheets need no authentication; private sheets require an authorized connection.

After changing a sheet, reload it in Darty-Ai before previewing or exporting the updated records. Follow the Google Sheets setup guide for connection and access settings.

No. Use the Tools interface to apply supported actions to your artwork and build reusable method settings. Export can also work without a linked spreadsheet.

For batches of personalized designs, a spreadsheet supplies the values for each record. You configure which artwork to target and what to change; common workflows do not require a custom script.

Yes. Add Darty-Ai tags to the objects, groups or layers you want to control, and connect those targets to your data and methods. You can keep the rest of your design as it is.

Start with a copy of your design, test a few representative records in Preview, and reuse the template and settings for later batches.

Illustrator’s Variables panel and the Variable Importer script provide workflows based on Illustrator’s native variables. Darty-Ai uses tags and configurable methods to target artwork.

Alongside text and image replacement, Darty-Ai provides layout and appearance controls, editable tables, codes and batch export. You can drive output names and folders from your data and save settings for reuse. The choice depends on how much of your production workflow you want to automate.

Yes. Create tables inside Illustrator or populate them from data. Control rows, columns, merged cells, borders, padding and text styles, and save table styles for reuse.

You can anchor artwork to cells so it moves with the table. Tables can also be exported as HTML with supported text and cell formatting; attached artwork and Illustrator-specific effects are not included in the HTML.

Replace whole text frames or selected text, apply character and paragraph styling, and fit changing copy within configured size limits. Supported Markdown and simple HTML can supply styled text.

Use your supplied translations, including right-to-left text, with the appropriate fonts and text-direction settings. Preview long entries and different scripts to check the final layout.

Yes. Generate QR codes and supported barcode formats from product codes, URLs or other record values, and place them in your Illustrator layout.

Choose the format and sizing settings for your output, then check the final printed or exported code with a scanner. The barcode format guide lists the available types.

Yes. Set your Preview document, then select records in the Data tab to see their values applied to the artwork. Use this to check text fitting, image placement, colors and layout before running a batch.

Try records with long text, missing optional values and different languages. The Preview guide walks through the controls.

Export AI, PDF, SVG, EPS, PNG, JPEG, WebP, TIFF and PSD. Depending on the format, you can export the document, selected artboards or tagged assets.

Set up multiple export jobs with their own formats and settings. Use spreadsheet values, document properties and counters for filenames and folders, and reuse export presets across projects.

Raster options include dimensions, resolution and background settings; PDF options include presets and security settings. Available controls depend on the output format.

Yes. Configure fields such as title, creator, description, keywords, rating and copyright information. Use values appropriate to the document or variation, such as a certificate title and its issuing organization.

Metadata support depends on the output format. If you want to keep metadata when compressing PNG or JPEG exports, leave Strip metadata off.

Yes. Enable compression in the raster export settings, or use Tools → Utilities → Compress Images for existing files and folders.

Choose a compression level and review the result. Stronger compression can reduce detail, and savings depend on the image. You can save compressed copies and decide whether to strip metadata.

Yes. The Free plan lets you try Darty-Ai without a credit card. It includes a monthly credit allowance and limits on installations and columns per row.

1. Create a Darty-Ai account and choose a plan.
2. Download the installer for your platform and close Illustrator before installing.
3. Open Illustrator, launch Darty-Ai from Window → Extensions → Darty-Ai, and sign in with your account token.
